I chose Disqus for my comments because I like using it when visiting blogs and websites. I encourage you to use it too. Disqus allows you to post your opinion on appropriate websites and blogs about without intermingling it with other forms of Social Media. I am one of those who doesn't want to read about politics on Facebook. If you want to read about how I feel about politics, the United Methodist Church, etc., look me up on Disqus (my profile is open). That is where you find Opinionated Phil. On Facebook, you will just find "Dad".
Please: no personal attacks, hate speech, etc. Feel free to criticize ideas but not people. Good natured ribbing is encouraged, however.

The title of the blog is in honor of my memories of lunch with my father and brother either on a jobsite or in the boat on Lake Kissimmee. Ever warmed up a can of baked beans on the exhaust pipe of a piece of machinery? I like my fly fishing down-to-earth, I wanted a title to convey that sentiment.
